Fontana Regional Library is dedicated to providing exceptional service and convenient access to resources for the public of Jackson, Macon, and Swain counties. With a mission to meet educational, informational, and recreational needs, the library aims to be the heart of the community, enriching lives and inspiring the future. With a rich history spanning over 75 years, Fontana Regional Library originated as a Tennessee Valley Authority-sponsored bookmobile in 1944.


Today, it coordinates an array of public library services across its six member libraries. The library offers a variety of materials and services to cater to different interests and preferences. Patrons can explore an extensive collection of books, eBooks, audiobooks, videos, movies, and magazines.


Additionally, online resources and databases are available for in-depth research. The library also organizes events and programs to foster a sense of community and engagement. Support from the friends of the library, as well as donations, helps sustain the library's operations and initiatives.
