## Description

Just Eat It is a thought-provoking 74-minute documentary film by Peg Leg Films in partnership with British Columbia's Knowledge Network. This engaging film tackles the critical issues of food waste and food rescue. Filmmakers and food enthusiasts Jen and Grant embark on a journey to uncover the shocking reality of waste, from farm to retail to their own refrigerator. The documentary highlights the staggering fact that nearly 50% of our food ends up in the trash. After witnessing the billions of dollars worth of perfectly good food being discarded each year in North America, Jen and Grant decide to quit grocery shopping altogether and survive solely on discarded food. This eye-opening experiment brings to light the devastating consequences of our systemic obsession with expiration dates, perfect produce, and portion sizes. Featuring interviews with renowned figures such as TED lecturer Tristram Stuart and author Jonathan Bloom, Just Eat It provides a deeper understanding of the issue and showcases inspiring organizations and individuals striving for change. This award-winning documentary is not only educational but also serves as delicious entertainment, bringing together farmers, retailers, and consumers in a captivating cinematic story.
