## Description

Football Against Dementia is a community initiative that uses the power of football and sport to support people affected by dementia. Its mission is to become a trusted community for individuals and families by offering practical guidance, useful resources and greater awareness. The organisation emphasises that its support is for anyone affected by dementia, not only footballers.

The initiative grew from the experience of its ambassador, Chris Sutton, whose late father Mike lived with dementia, and an initial donation of a football kit. It aims to bring people and businesses together to raise awareness, create happy memories and help people remain in their own homes if that is their wish. Club Ambassadors contribute their time to help the community grow and amplify its message, often drawing on personal experience.

Football Against Dementia’s activities include working with health authorities, visiting dementia support groups, organising football matches and tournaments, and arranging gatherings for former players, clubs, match officials and supporters.
