## Description

The Footy Almanac is an Australian sports and culture publication built around the idea of writing “from the heart.” Its website brings together stories, commentary and personal reflections from a broad community of contributors, with individual authors retaining copyright and responsibility for their opinions. Football is central to the Almanac, with coverage of AFL and rugby league, including match reports, previews, season reviews, player profiles and discussion of major games. The publication also explores cricket, horse racing, music, books and everyday life, offering readers perspectives that extend beyond scores and statistics. Readers can browse the latest stories, follow an events calendar and find information about writing for the site. The Almanac also offers memberships and an online shop, and invites visitors to register for its e-newsletter. In-person events include Footy Almanac lunches featuring guest speakers and opportunities for conversation and camaraderie. With editors, specialist contributors and engaged readers, The Footy Almanac provides a platform for sharing thoughtful, entertaining stories about sport and the experiences surrounding it.
