## Description

Foreningen les, also known as Association Read!, is a non-profit organization and the leading provider of literature for children and adolescents in Norway. Established in 1997, our goal is to inspire a love for reading among children, adolescents, and adults. We achieve this by making contemporary literature accessible to target groups and providing them with an arena for reading, writing, and forming opinions about literature. Our association offers a wide range of products and services. We give teachers tools for working with contemporary literature in classrooms and collaborating with students. We develop an intermediary role in schools and libraries, drawing attention to reading role models. Through our work, we provide readers with access to quality literature in various genres and formats. In addition, we have several initiatives that cater to specific age groups. For example, we run the Bookstart program, which gifts free books to families with small children to encourage daily reading and nurture a love for books. We also have Leseskogen, a reading campaign for 1st and 2nd-grade pupils, and the Avid Reader Award for 5th-7th-grade students. Other projects include Tid for ti, Bokprat, the tXt Campaign, Faktafyk, and the Norwegian Youth Literature Award (Uprisen). At Foreningen les, we are committed to promoting reading as a fundamental skill and fostering a lifelong passion for literature. We work closely with children, adolescents, teachers, librarians, authors, publishers, and literary organizations to connect readers with the power of literature. From access to quality books to engaging activities and conversations, we strive to empower readers of all ages and backgrounds to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners.
