## Description

Wisconsin Formula Student USA is an educational motorsports program that gives students interested in engineering, technology, and racing a practical way to develop and demonstrate their skills. The program brings school teams together for controlled racing time-trial events, where participants compete with vehicles they build themselves according to strict guidelines. These rules are intended to promote safety and produce cars that closely resemble current SCCA Formula First race vehicles.

Although the cars may look similar, differences in drivetrains, alignment, and steering geometry create opportunities for spirited competition. The program’s primary emphasis is not simply racing: it aims to help students gain engineering and technical experience relevant to the needs of U.S. manufacturers. Formula Student USA also provides information and resources related to competition rules, required chassis components, and tire selection, and invites schools and sponsors to get involved. Its listed activities include track events at Road America’s Briggs & Stratton Motorplex in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
