## Description

Forrest Ecology is an initiative focused on building a knowledge bank about India’s forests and supporting their conservation. The organization aims to raise awareness of forests and document traditional ecological knowledge, sharing accessible information for people interested in India’s natural heritage. Its website features an Indian Tree Ecology Series, with profiles covering botanical and common names, distribution, and other details about individual tree species. Examples include Soymida febrifuga, Ochna obtusata, and Dalbergia latifolia. Forrest Ecology also publishes stories about conservation and restoration, including crocodile conservation along the Savitri River and forest restoration projects in Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai and at an Indian Army campus in Goa. These initiatives highlight practical efforts to protect habitats and encourage coexistence with wildlife. The site further offers ecology resources through sections on insectology, birdology, and stories, alongside a gallery, posters, and media. With its educational content and project coverage, Forrest Ecology connects knowledge about Indian forests with public awareness and conservation action.
