## Description

Fortuna is a light strategic card game created by historian Jake Dyble and developed with his father, Mark Dyble, through The Nice Ideas Studio. Set in the golden age of sail, it invites three to six players into a world of ambitious merchants competing to build wealth and earn the right to retire as a gentleperson. Players use blind trades, shrewd investments and sneaky actions to grow their landed estates and gain an advantage in the market, while the goddess Fortuna adds an unpredictable element of chance. Designed to reward wit and tactical thinking while remaining accessible to casual players, the game emphasizes social interaction and memorable moments of surprise. Its historical inspiration is complemented by original, hand-drawn watercolour illustrations being created with artist Catherine Boël and graphic designer Harriet Cody, evoking the drama and splendour of the 17th and 18th centuries. Fortuna is planned as a Kickstarter crowdfunding project in 2027.
