Fostersmes is a brand that aims to strengthen the private sector in Turkey in order to promote social and economic cohesion, with funding from the European Union (EU). This initiative, known as the FOSTER Project, seeks to increase employment opportunities for Turkish citizens, promote the social and economic integration of temporary and internationally protected foreigners, and enhance the resilience of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) operating in 15 different provinces in Turkey. Fostersmes offers various programs to support SMEs, including the SME Support Program and the Interest/Profit Share Support Program. Through these programs, selected businesses can receive a total of 35 million euros in grant aid and access to 200 million euros in SME credit. The FOSTER Project also organizes events and activities, such as the project's opening event, to engage with stakeholders and drive forward its objectives. Additionally, the project has established an Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) based on IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Environmental and Social Standards, and KfW Development Bank Sustainability Principles to mitigate environmental and social risks and promote sustainability in participating sectors. With a focus on empowering the private sector and promoting social and economic cohesion, Fostersmes is making a significant contribution to the development and resilience of businesses in Turkey.
