## Description

Fragas Aveloso is an association dedicated to environmental, scientific, community and cultural engagement, with a focus on connecting people and supporting the value of local territories and rural communities. Its areas of activity include the environment, culture, animal rights, economy and ecology, and feminism and memory.

The association organizes the annual Festival Fragas Aveloso, bringing together villages and nearby communities through events that combine nature, science, literature, music, cinema and social gatherings. Its programme has included guided activities and citizen-science experiences exploring local rivers and streams, aquatic biodiversity, ecosystems and water quality. These activities also introduce participants to the natural and cultural heritage associated with water, including mills, channels and springs.

Fragas Aveloso additionally hosts cultural events such as outdoor film screenings, poetry and music evenings, theatre, debates and community meals. Through exhibitions, research presentations and collaborative gatherings, the association encourages learning, cultural exchange and cooperation among local organizations. Its work offers residents and visitors opportunities to discover the region, take part in shared experiences and build stronger connections between villages.
