## Description

Fraternal Escotista de Portugal (FRATERNAL) is a national, nonprofit civil organisation with an educational and social purpose, open to adults of all genders, origins, ethnicities and beliefs. It continues the work and historical legacy of the Fraternal dos Antigos Escoteiros de Portugal, founded in 1950, bringing former Scouts together to keep the spirit of Scouting alive throughout adulthood. Guided by Baden-Powell’s ideas, the organisation encourages members to uphold the Scout Promise and Law and put their values of citizenship into practice at work and in their communities.

FRATERNAL supports local groups, shares news and activities, and organises or participates in events and webinars. In partnership with the Associação de Escoteiros de Portugal, it runs the Museum of Scouting, which presents the movement’s history through documents, multimedia, thematic collections and objects with historical significance. Its “Sempre à Coca” initiative creates and shares resources about animal tracking, wildlife observation, environmental awareness and nearby ecosystems. Adults interested in joining can contact FRATERNAL to learn about membership and local groups.
