FreeTTS is an online text-to-speech platform that turns written content into natural-sounding audio using AI voices. It offers more than 2,253 voices in 149 languages, with a free tier that requires no signup or credit card. Users can enter text, choose a voice, adjust speed and pitch, then listen online or download an MP3. The free plan supports up to 5,000 characters per generation and 15,000 per month, and can also produce synchronized SRT subtitles.

FreeTTS provides tools for creating voiceovers, audiobooks from text or PDFs, captioned videos, and subtitles, as well as audio transcription and script timing. Its Studio includes features such as multi-voice dialogue, per-line emotion, and pauses. Paid plans add higher usage limits, commercial licensing, expressive voice styles, and API access; PRO also supports SSML. The service is designed for creators, students, professionals, developers, and people who prefer listening to written material. FreeTTS says it does not use users’ data to train other AI tools.
