## Description

The Fresson Trust is a registered Scottish charity established by Captain E. E. Fresson, a notable figure in aviation history. Its work focuses on promoting aviation in the Scottish Highlands and Islands and preserving knowledge of Scottish aviation, including Captain Fresson’s contribution. The Trust supports young people from the region who want to pursue careers in aviation through a bursary scheme. Financial assistance may help eligible applicants with qualifications for roles such as pilot, aircraft engineer or air traffic controller. Pilot support is normally directed towards ground-school costs connected with a commercial licence, although the Trust may consider exceptions, including support for private pilot training or air traffic control cadets who are close to completing required hours. The organisation also shares aviation history through information about Captain Fresson and Highland aviation, and can deliver presentations for events. Its website features news and historical material, including coverage of Shetland air services. Based in Inverness, the Trust invites prospective bursary applicants and event organisers to make contact.
