## Description

Freunde der Tiere e.V. is a German animal welfare association founded in early 2015. Based in Solingen and led by chair Barbara Nolte, the organization works to protect dogs in need, with a particular focus on animals from public shelters in Andalusia and Romania. It has helped place almost 300 dogs with loving families in Germany. The association also responds to animal welfare cases within Germany, offering prompt, practical support when dogs are seriously ill, malnourished, or at risk because of their age. Some animals require intensive care over an extended period before they can be rehomed.

Freunde der Tiere e.V. shares information about animals it supports abroad, including dogs who may later become available for adoption in Germany. Its website provides details about the adoption process, current dogs, sponsorship opportunities, and ways to help. The association relies on active members, foster homes, and donations, which can support a particular animal or its general work. It also welcomes prospective adopters and people interested in fostering or becoming sponsors.
