## Description

Friendship is an international social purpose organization founded in 2002, based in Bangladesh, that aims to empower marginalized communities facing extreme poverty and environmental challenges. With a steadfast commitment to dignity, justice, and quality, Friendship addresses critical social issues by providing access to healthcare, education, and essential services in remote and underserved regions. The organization was pioneering in its approach, launching the first hospital ship dedicated to reaching the isolated populations of the sandbar islands along the Jamuna River.

Friendship’s holistic strategy encompasses six key sectors, including saving lives, poverty alleviation, climate adaptation, and empowerment, supported by a robust international network of local organizations. With nearly 5,000 dedicated employees, over 70% from local communities, Friendship has earned the trust of those it serves by delivering impactful solutions that resonate with their needs. By effectively utilizing donor funds and fostering partnerships worldwide, Friendship continues to strive towards its vision of a world where every individual has the opportunity to live with dignity and hope.
