## Description

Friends of Reservoirs (FOR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and coalition of local citizen groups working to improve fish habitat in reservoir systems. Its approach combines grassroots conservation with national partnerships, funding, science, and targeted restoration projects. FOR supports the Reservoir Fisheries Habitat Partnership and works with chapters, community groups, sponsors, and other partners to advance habitat enhancement across the country.

The organization offers grants for reservoir fish habitat projects, including large and small grants and programs such as TryMarine, Mossback, and Reef Ball grants. It provides project guidelines, accepts project proposals, and shares information about funded work and project updates. FOR also offers scientific resources to help guide conservation, including reservoir assessments, habitat data, priority species and impairment information, and a best management practices manual covering issues such as sedimentation, water quality, aquatic plants, and habitat management.

Visitors can learn about local chapters, membership, sponsorship, events, and ways to help, as well as access news and educational materials.
