Friends of Retired Greyhounds (FORG) is a 501c3 non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for retired greyhounds. We work closely with kennel operators and other adoption groups to ensure that these gentle and amazing animals find their forever homes. At FORG, we prioritize the health and well-being of our greyhounds, working with trusted veterinarians to provide necessary vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and overall good health before placing them in homes.

In addition to our adoption program, we also strive to educate individuals and groups about greyhounds, their history, and their lives as former racing dogs. We work tirelessly to spread awareness about the breed and the unique qualities they possess as professional athletes. Our greyhounds come from race kennels across the U.

S., as well as greyhound farms and shelters. Each greyhound goes through a comprehensive medical check, including spay/neuter surgeries, dental cleaning, vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchipping, and a thorough physical examination. To ensure a successful adoption process, we have an involved screening process including an adoption application and a thorough home visit.

Our experienced team works closely with each adoptive parent to find the best match for both the greyhound and the household. For those who are unable to adopt permanently, we offer a foster program where families provide a temporary and loving home for greys as they transition to civilian life. Foster families help these greys familiarize themselves with a normal pet's life and prepare them for their forever home.
