## Description

Friends of Sick Children in Malawi (FOSCiM) is a UK-registered charity dedicated to improving the healthcare and wellbeing of children in Malawi. For more than 15 years, it has supported a project at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre, working to create and develop free, sustainable specialist healthcare for children. The charity raises funds for Friends of Sick Children, a Malawi-based children’s charity with the same objective, and shares information about local needs, fundraising progress and the experiences of colleagues working at QECH.

FOSCiM’s work focuses on strengthening children’s healthcare, including improving and maintaining hospital facilities. It also supports education to build lasting local capacity, inviting donations towards further training for Malawians in paediatrics. The organisation highlights the importance of these efforts in a country where children make up half the population and public healthcare resources are severely constrained. Through its news, vision and progress updates, FOSCiM connects supporters with the needs of children receiving care at QECH and the ongoing development of sustainable specialist services.
