## Description

Friends of York Archaeological Trust, founded in 1975, is a vital volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the York Archaeological Trust (YAT), a leading archaeological charity in Britain. The Friends play an essential role in promoting publicly accessible archaeology, aligning with YAT's mission to "Build Better Lives Through Heritage." With offices in four UK cities and five attractions in York, this organization helps educate and engage the public through history.

Membership offers numerous benefits, including free entry to award-winning attractions such as the JORVIK Viking Centre, Barley Hall, and DIG. By joining, members contribute directly to an annual donation that furthers YAT's educational initiatives and public engagement efforts. The Friends celebrate the trust's history and achievements, including a published account commemorating 50 years of impactful work.

With a commitment to fostering a deeper connection to our past, joining the Friends of York Archaeological Trust not only enriches individual experiences but also makes a meaningful contribution to archaeological education and heritage preservation.
