# FRONTINUS - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `frontinus.de` ## Description Frontinus-Gesellschaft e.V. is an international scholarly society dedicated to the history of water, energy and pipeline technology, from antiquity to the early modern period. Founded in 1976, it brings together archaeologists, historians, engineers, architects and other specialists from nearly 20 countries, while also welcoming interested members of the public. Through this interdisciplinary network, the society supports research, education and the exchange of expertise on historic technologies and water management. The society shares its work through a broad range of publications, including Frontinus-Mitteilungen, scholarly series, books on the history of water supply, bibliographies, monographs and other specialist works.
