## Description

The Family Trauma Advocacy Program (FTAP) is a Chicago-based organization supporting people whose family members have died as a result of homicide or violent crime. It provides free, comprehensive grief support to surviving family members throughout Illinois and welcomes survivors from other locations as well. Recognizing that violent loss can change lives, FTAP aims to accompany families through the grieving process with support, encouragement, education, and empowerment.

Its resources and services include grief help, online reflection opportunities, and GriefTalk submissions, where survivors can share their experiences. The program also offers a remembrance quilt and a reflection wall for honoring loved ones. Its website provides Illinois and national resource information, forms, and ways to join the mailing list, contact the organization, or support its work through donations. Through these programs and resources, FTAP seeks to help survivors feel less alone and find support as they navigate loss. The organization is based in Joliet, Illinois, and connects with its community through its website and social media.
