The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt is the oldest and largest Fulbright program in the Arab world. Established in 1949, it was created through a protocol between the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. State Department. With a mandate to cultivate mutual understanding through educational exchange, the Commission has sent nearly 8,000 scholars from both Egypt and the United States to study and conduct research abroad.
