## Description

The Fundación Presidente Balmaceda is a Chilean political and social studies center dedicated to examining the country’s realities through a liberal perspective inspired by President José Manuel Balmaceda. Founded in 1916 as the Club José Manuel Balmaceda, it promotes liberal principles grounded in respect for Chile’s Constitution and laws, and seeks to strengthen political liberalism, democracy, and freedom with dignity. The foundation provides opportunities for people, particularly younger generations, to engage with public life and develop their political understanding through education and discussion.

Its work includes analysis and research, a Congress observatory, thematic meetings, and activities for young people. The foundation also shares historical resources about José Manuel Balmaceda, including correspondence, documents, journalism, and biographical material. Through its editorial program, it publishes books and other texts, with publications dating back to 1953. Additional initiatives include the Club Balmaceda, described as a liberal club with more than 100 years of history, the “Heirs of History” podcast, a freedom prize, and competitions.
