## Description

FWB-online is the online version of the Frühneuhochdeutsches Wörterbuch (FWB), documenting the vocabulary of the High German language from the mid-14th to mid-17th centuries. Initially developed in the 1980s by Oskar Reichmann, in ongoing collaboration with Ulrich Goebel, the project has seen continuous refinement with Anja Lobenstein-Reichmann since the late 1990s. Currently, the project is ongoing as a research initiative of the Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen and is slated for completion by 2027. Published by Walter de Gruyter, the printed version of FWB becomes available on FWB-online after respective embargo periods. Offering concise usage guidelines, a comprehensive lexicon, and helpful FAQs, FWB-online is a valuable resource for scholars, students, and enthusiasts of early modern German linguistics. Explore the evolving alphabetized content and delve into the intricacies of historical German language usage with FWB-online.
