## Description

Forward Foundation is a volunteer-led nonprofit supporting veterans, current service members, and military families as they pursue education and civilian careers. Founded by veterans and military family members, the organization addresses the challenges of transition by combining financial assistance with personal guidance and a lasting peer community. Its Veteran Scholarship Program offers education funding to veterans and service members, with BRAVO awards for first-time applicants and CHARLIE awards for returning scholars. The Military Family Scholarship Program supports spouses and dependents through RED and BLUE awards, with BLUE recipients also receiving career-planning services. Both programs provide scholarships of up to $2,500, one-to-one mentor matching, and access to the ALPHA Team community. Through ALPHA Team, scholars receive ongoing mentorship focused on goal setting, career planning, and practical support, including after scholarship funding ends. The foundation also invites experienced professionals, veterans, and other mission-aligned contributors to volunteer as mentors, committing at least two hours per month. Forward Foundation says it has no paid staff, directing donations to scholarships and programs.
