## Description

GA-Lotse is an open-source digital platform designed to help public health departments and other public institutions improve and standardize their administrative processes. Developed with and for departmental staff, it aims to make everyday work easier while enabling closer collaboration with residents through an online citizen portal. The project was established under Germany’s Pact for the Public Health Service and received support from the European Union and the Hessian Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Sport, Health and Care.

The software combines a core module for internal processes, contacts, inventory, resources, chat and statistics with a citizen self-service portal and specialized modules for recurring tasks. Its modular structure allows institutions to adapt the system to their needs and add further capabilities over time. GA-Lotse is cloud-hosted, works in a current web browser, supports offline use with automatic synchronization, and adapts to desktop and mobile devices. The platform emphasizes security, including redundancy and a Zero Trust approach.
