## Description

The Gruppo Archeologico Comasco “Ulisse Buzzi” ONLUS is a volunteer, nonprofit association based in Mariano Comense, in the province of Como, Italy, and a member of the Italian Archaeological Groups. It works to research, study, protect, share and promote the area’s historical, archaeological and monumental heritage. Its activities include archaeological research and excavations, site maintenance and participation in archaeological field camps. The group also helps visitors and residents discover local history through guided tours, educational visits, classroom lessons and a teaching laboratory. Its work and visitor resources feature archaeological sites and heritage routes in the Parco Regionale Spina Verde, including Pianvalle, the Prestino area and the Fonte della Mojenca, as well as historical sites in Mariano Comense. For those interested in learning more, the association organizes conferences, courses and meetings, and publishes a newsletter and the journal “Archeologia. Il passato presente.” Its website provides news, photographs, downloadable publications and documents, and information about the group’s projects. The association also invites public support through Italy’s five-per-thousand tax donation scheme.
