Georgia Alabama Land Trust (GALT) is the largest regional land trust in the Southeast, formed by the merger of Coastal Georgia Land Trust, Chattowah Open Land Trust, Georgia Land Trust, and Alabama Land Trust. Established in 1993, GALT has been protecting and stewarding over 430,000 acres of land across nearly 1,200 properties. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, GALT is dedicated to preserving critical wildlife habitats, prime soils, and other important lands that make the Southeast a special place.

They work closely with governmental agencies, institutions of higher learning, and other non-profit organizations to create nature preserves and provide the public with opportunities to hike, bike, recreate, and connect with nature.
