## Description

**Galicia Genealogy** is a dedicated resource for those exploring their ancestral roots in the historic region of Galicia, located in today's Southern Poland and Western Ukraine. Once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, this culturally rich area is a melting pot of traditions, religions, and histories. Founded by Heather, who brings over 15 years of personal genealogy research experience, the site offers invaluable tools for anyone looking to trace their lineage. Users can access a variety of records, including birth, marriage, and death vital records, as well as detailed maps of Roman Catholic parishes.

Galicia Genealogy emphasizes the importance of connecting individuals to their heritage, particularly focusing on the Roman Catholic traditions prevalent in the Polish portion of Galicia. The site not only features in-depth information about the region's diverse religious communities—such as Ruthenians, Jews, and German Protestants—but also invites users to support ongoing research and content development through donations. Join Heather in preserving and understanding the unique legacies of Galicia.
