## Description

Game Detectives is a community formed in 2015 to solve the Steam Winter Sale alternate reality game (ARG). Since then, its members have worked together on investigations including the Sombra ARG, Frog Fractions 2 ARG, and Waking Titan ARG. The community focuses on collaborative puzzle-solving and the immersive experiences ARGs create through clues that may appear on websites, by phone, or in physical locations.

Alongside investigating ARGs, Game Detectives creates and hosts occasional puzzle events for its community, often with prizes. Its staff have also developed ARG and puzzle events for other organizations. To help people learn and participate, Game Detectives maintains a comprehensive wiki, supported by volunteer editors, with information on its past and ongoing investigations. The Game Detectives Academy offers free, interactive tutorials designed to help learners build their cipher-solving skills, from beginner level toward expert decoding. Whether visitors want to follow an investigation, learn how to solve puzzles, or contribute to a shared effort, Game Detectives provides resources and a community for exploring ARGs together.
