## Description

Gameheads is a brand that offers a unique tech training program to empower young people of color with the skills they need to succeed in school, their careers, and beyond. Based in Oakland, California, Gameheads combines video game design and development with education and career counseling to engage, prepare, and train low-income youth and youth of color, aged 15 to 24, for careers in the tech and video game industries. Through their programs, students learn how to create, code, and design games, while also developing skills in project management, teamwork, leadership, and storytelling. The goal is not only to prepare students for careers in technology but also to help them graduate from high school, pursue STEAM-related degrees, and enter the tech and video game industries. Led by a dedicated team, including Co-Founder and Executive Director Damon Packwood, Gameheads is committed to changing the face of the gaming culture by equipping young people with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
