GANHRI is a global alliance that brings together and supports national human rights institutions (NHRIs) to promote and protect human rights. With over 110 NHRIs as members, GANHRI is one of the largest human rights networks worldwide. Operating in accordance with the Paris Principles, GANHRI provides leadership in the promotion and protection of human rights. GANHRI's diverse membership spans all regions, and it works closely with regional networks in Africa, the Americas, the Asia Pacific, and Europe, creating a comprehensive structure of independent networks. Recognized as a trusted partner of the United Nations, GANHRI has established strong relationships with the UN Human Rights Office, UNDP, and other international and regional organizations. GANHRI's theory of change focuses on establishing and accrediting independent NHRIs globally, supporting and strengthening NHRIs to fulfill their mandate, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and influencing the global policy agenda.
