## Description

The Gap Year Association (GYA) is a nonprofit membership community dedicated to maximizing the potential of young adults through accessible and meaningful gap year opportunities. They bring together educators, students, gap year programs, consultants, counselors, and post-secondary institutions with the shared vision of making quality gap year time accessible to every high school graduate. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, GYA serves as the Standards Development Organization for gap year education in the U.S. They oversee a rigorous accreditation process for gap year providers and consultants to ensure integrity in gap year experiences. Whether you're a student, educator, or program provider, GYA offers resources to help you plan a successful gap year, including a comprehensive program search, access to accredited gap year consultants, guidance on college planning, financial aid information, and support for inclusion and access in gap years. Join the GYA community to explore the transformative power of gap year experiences.
