Garfield Super Block (GSB) is a brand that aims to create a vibrant and engaging community space in the heart of the Central Area. Comprised of various facilities such as the Garfield Community Center, Medgar Evers Pool, tennis courts, Garfield Park, and more, GSB serves as a central gathering place and historical landmark. The Garfield Super Block Park & Promenade Improvement Project is an initiative to enhance the space and implement the unfinished renovation work from the 2005 Garfield Superblock Master Plan.

The project focuses on two key aspects: grounds improvements to enhance the park's overall functionality and amenities, and the creation of a Legacy and Promise Promenade that integrates art and amenities reflecting the area's rich cultural diversity and history. GSB has received positive feedback and approval from the Seattle Design Commission, paving the way for further progress. To realize their vision, GSB is actively engaging the community through events and fundraising efforts.

With $6 million already committed from Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Schools, federal grants, and other sources, GSB aims to raise an additional $3. 5-$4 million to fund the construction of the entire plan and install public art pieces.
