GloucCoHistSociety, also known as the Gloucester County Historical Society, has been dedicated to collecting and preserving materials from Southern New Jersey since 1903. They offer a wide range of products and services to provide the public with an immersive experience in local history. At their Museum, located at 58 N. Broad St., Woodbury, NJ, visitors can explore over 30,000 artifacts and historical objects through permanent and rotating exhibits. These exhibits showcase furniture, glassware, everyday tools, historical clothing, samplers, fiber arts, military equipment and supplies, toys and dolls, unique artifacts and art, and much more. The GloucCoHistSociety Library, situated at 17 Hunter St., Woodbury, NJ, houses one of the largest genealogical collections in Southern New Jersey. Researchers can access unique holdings of local newspapers, unrecorded deeds and surveys, cemetery and church records, and original government documents dating back to the 17th century. In addition, the library provides access to subscription databases, such as Ancestry.com and Genealogybank.com, and the digital records of FamilySearch. The GloucCoHistSociety also oversees the preservation of the Moravian Church at Oldman's Creek, which served as a house of worship for Moravians, Methodists, and Episcopalians for over 150 years. The site is currently undergoing preservation work to become a community and heritage tourism location. To support their preservation projects and gain access to exclusive benefits, individuals can become members of the GloucCoHistSociety. Memberships are available at varying levels, and non-members can purchase a three-month database subscription.
