Grand Canyon U

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is a private Christian university that is dedicated to shaping socially responsible and compassionate servant leaders who make a lasting impact on their communities. At GCU, students, staff, and alumni have access to a variety of volunteer opportunities. Through community outreach and ministry programs, GCU provides training and guidance to individuals, so they can utilize their unique talents to serve the Kingdom of God.

One of the standout volunteer experiences at GCU is Habitat for Humanity, where students come together to renovate homes in a nearby neighborhood. This initiative is part of GCU's five-point plan, established in 2015, to revitalize the West Phoenix neighborhood in collaboration with public and private entities. GCU also offers the CityServe program, which aims to transform communities in Arizona, and the L.

S. Academy, a non-degree program that helps young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop academic, social, and job skills. GCU's commitment to community outreach extends to both local and global communities.

Through ministries like the Local Outreach Team, Global Outreach Team, and Changing Lives Outreach, students have opportunities to serve vulnerable populations in various ways. Additionally, GCU's Honors College organizes an annual Community Service Week to support local nonprofits and neighbors in need. With over 29,000 volunteer hours contributed through Habitat for Humanity and numerous other initiatives, GCU truly embodies its mission of service and community outreach
