## Description

Geodateninfrastruktur Schleswig-Holstein (GDI-SH) coordinates access to geospatial information and services across the state. Its website explains the initiative’s organisation, responsibilities, goals and role in implementing INSPIRE, and provides publications, practical guidance and updates. A central resource is the Geoportal, which enables users to search for, order and prepare geodata. The DANord theme portals offer free ways to present and analyse geospatial data, with accessible access to services and information held across decentralised sources. The Schleswig-Holstein Metadata Information System (SH-MIS) helps users discover metadata and locate distributed geoinformation resources through an online and intranet search service. Featured offerings include a geocoding service for addresses in Schleswig-Holstein, a portal for the European Union’s Copernicus Earth observation programme, and GeoMelder SH, which lets the public help keep official geodata current. The site also highlights projects such as KI4Forst, which uses satellite data and artificial intelligence to map forests and forest damage. GDI-SH is coordinated by LVermGeo SH, the state surveying and geoinformation authority.
