## Description

The Spanish Lung Cancer Group (Grupo Español de Cáncer de Pulmón, GECP) is an independent cooperative dedicated to advancing the study and research of lung cancer since its inception in 1991. Comprising over 700 medical professionals, including oncologists, thoracic surgeons, and radiotherapists, the GECP collaborates with 190 public and private healthcare centers across Spain. Their mission focuses on innovative approaches to understanding lung cancer through clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and personalized therapy strategies.

GECP is renowned for conducting significant clinical trials that have treated over 60,000 patients. They provide educational resources like newsletters, podcasts, and symposia to raise awareness about lung cancer, its risk factors, and signs to look out for. Furthermore, they advocate for timely molecular diagnostics to improve patient outcomes. With ongoing studies and community engagement, the GECP aims to foster a deeper understanding of lung cancer, address misconceptions, and ultimately enhance patient survival rates.
