## Description

**Geheugen van Oost** is a vibrant cultural initiative dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history and stories of the Oost district in Amsterdam. Through engaging activities, exhibitions, and community events, they bring to life the historical narratives of the area, focusing on Joodse (Jewish) heritage and other significant local stories. Among their offerings are guided storytelling walks, particularly around important dates such as Bevrijdingsdag (Liberation Day) and events like the Koningsdag festival, which celebrate the vibrant culture and history of the community.

Additionally, the organization actively seeks volunteers to participate in their mission, encouraging community members to contribute to the preservation of local history. The Geheugen van Oost also provides resources for storytelling through photo collections and newsletters, ensuring that both residents and visitors can connect with the rich tapestry of life in Oost. By fostering community engagement and awareness, Geheugen van Oost serves as a testament to the importance of remembering and honoring the past.
