## Description

The Georgian Library Association (GLA) is a prominent organization dedicated to enhancing library services across Georgia. Founded in 1999, the Association established the Georgian Integrated Library System Consortium to promote the adoption of innovative information technology systems in libraries throughout the country. As a member of the international organization eIFL.net, GLA connects over 60 libraries from developing and transitional countries to a wealth of resources, including journals, e-books, and various databases at favorable rates.

GLA operates several key programs, including Open Access, innovative public library services, and intellectual property rights initiatives, all aimed at improving access to information and technology in Georgia. With a focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing, GLA addresses the dynamic needs of library users. The executive director, Irakli Gharibashvili, leads the consortium in its mission to foster a modern and accessible library network, ensuring that all Georgians benefit from enhanced educational and informational resources.
