GeLab, the Georgian Laboratory Association, is a non-profit organization that was established in 2013 with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of laboratory infrastructure in Georgia and achieving international recognition. GeLab's primary focus is to ensure that laboratories in Georgia meet international standards through accreditation, such as ISO/IEC17025 for testing and calibration laboratories and ISO15189 for medical laboratories. By doing so, GeLab plays a vital role in facilitating Georgia's integration into a deep and comprehensive free trade area. Membership in GeLab is open to any laboratory or organization interested in laboratory activities in Georgia, including testing, calibration, teaching, scientific, and in-house labs. GeLab aims to create a collaborative platform for interested parties, provide technical assistance and education, support human resource development, foster cooperation with partner organizations and colleagues, and attract grants and financial aid to further enhance the activities of Georgian laboratories.
