## Description

Gemeinsam leben mit Demenz e. V. (GlmD) is an association dedicated to supporting people living with dementia and the people close to them. Its work is grounded in the belief that people with dementia belong at the heart of society and retain their feelings and needs, even as the condition affects memory. The association shares information, challenges prejudice and helps people explore ways to maintain autonomy, social connection and quality of life.

GlmD focuses particularly on self-managed dementia shared-living communities and supports residents and their relatives. Its activities include training for people in the circle of someone with dementia, a network for dementia shared-living communities, and the arrangement of trained friendly companions. The association also creates opportunities for cultural participation, including events for older adults, music and singing activities, and gatherings in the shared homes. Its website offers practical guidance on topics such as communication, healthcare, leisure activities and alternative living arrangements, alongside media recommendations and a podcast.
