International Gender Champions (IGC) is a dynamic and influential brand that aims to drive gender equality by breaking down barriers and promoting change. Founded in 2015 by former UN Geneva Director-General Michael Møller, former US Ambassador to the UN in Geneva Pamela Hamamoto, and Women@TheTable CEO/Founder Caitlin Kraft-Buchman, IGC is a leadership network that brings together decision-makers from various spheres of influence. With over 330 active Champions and 340 Alumni leading international organizations, Permanent Missions, and Civil Society Organizations, IGC has established a global community committed to advancing gender equality. To join the network, Champions must hold leadership roles within their organizations and be based in one of the six hubs: Geneva, New York, Vienna, Nairobi, The Hague, or Paris. By signing the IGC Panel Parity Pledge, the IGC Gender-Based Violence Pledge, and committing to two S.M.A.R.T. They collaborate through bi-annual meetings, share best practices, and strategize on achieving their goals. The IGC Global Board, chaired by Inter-Parliamentary Union Secretary-General Martin Chungong, provides strategic direction, while the IGC Secretariat supports the network, oversees programmatic activities, and coordinates administrative tasks. Through their values of respect, fairness, diversity, and transparency, IGC Champions work collectively to create safe and equitable workplaces. They amplify their messages, campaigns, and best practices through various platforms, including social media and resources sections. With a vision of a gender-equal world, IGC is making a significant impact on generations to come.
