## Description

GENEARCS is a professional genealogy and paleography service based in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. It helps individuals explore their family origins through tailored research, guidance and historical document work. Services include advice on genealogical research and the search for and transcription of civil records, parish registers and notarial documents. GENEARCS can create personalized family trees, tracing ancestors across multiple generations or following descendants from a chosen ancestor, and can produce a book about a family’s history.

The service also transcribes older handwriting found in parish registers and notarial records dating from the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. For clients interested in the meanings and origins of names, GENEARCS researches the etymology of surnames and place names. In addition to undertaking research, it offers courses in genealogy and paleography, helping people develop their own skills in family history and reading historical documents. GENEARCS is a member of UPRO-G, the professional union of genealogists, and invites prospective clients to request a personalized estimate.
