## Description

Silmak-Genesis Care is a Kenya-based enterprise focused on improving menstrual health, dignity, and access to care. Inspired by founder Catherine Mumbua Wanjoya’s experience with inadequate menstrual materials in Makueni County, the organization develops practical solutions for girls, women, and communities in rural and urban settings. Its approach combines sustainable products, health education, accessible distribution, and responsible waste management.

Products include biodegradable sanitary pads, coin-operated and M-Pesa-enabled dispensers, and accountability dispensers that provide free pads while tracking usage and inventory. Its AI SMS chatbot offers confidential menstrual health, mental wellness, and gender-based violence support without requiring internet access. For disposal, Silmak-Genesis Care provides smart bins that track menstrual waste and on-site eco-incinerators designed to reduce it to ash.

The company serves schools, workplaces, healthcare facilities, and underserved communities, and partners with businesses and organizations on menstrual care and ESG initiatives. Its corporate solutions can support product access, waste tracking, sanitation improvements, and measurable social and environmental impact.
