## Description

The Genetic Literacy Project (GLP) is a science-focused organization that helps the public, media, and policymakers understand the science and implications of human and agricultural genetics and biotechnology. Its stated approach is “Science Not Ideology,” and its coverage examines scientific evidence alongside the social, regulatory, and ethical questions surrounding these fields. The GLP publishes articles and features on topics including agriculture and food, ancestry and evolution, health and medicine, chemical controversies, sustainability, climate change, and emerging science. Its resources include infographics, videos, a searchable research library, frequently asked questions about genetically modified organisms, and profiles of biotechnology. The project also offers specialized tools and sections, such as a global gene-editing regulation tracker, an anti-GMO advocacy funding tracker, and materials on pesticides, pollinators, and sustainable weed management. Readers can browse articles by author or source, access RSS feeds, sign up for a newsletter, and contribute through donations. The GLP also provides information about its mission, governance, financial transparency, editorial standards, and policies on conflicts of interest, verification, fact-checking, and corrections.
