## Description

Ahnenblatt is a genealogy software brand offering a comprehensive Windows application for family researchers and genealogists. It helps users organize family-history information and turn it into useful outputs, including family trees, ancestry charts, family books, and local family history books. The program is designed for straightforward use, with simple data-entry dialogs and tools for creating attractive charts in just a few clicks.

Ahnenblatt supports importing existing genealogy records through the GEDCOM format, making it useful both for people starting their research and for those moving from another program. Its optimized GEDCOM import accommodates data from various applications, including GenPlus, GENprofi, PC-Ahnen, and GF-Ahnen. It can also import GEDCOM files created with Gen_Pluswin, enabling users to continue working with those records, although Ahnenblatt is not a successor or further development of that discontinued software.

The software is available to download and purchase, and an unlimited demo version can be downloaded free for testing. A 2021 survey by the magazine Computergenealogie identified Ahnenblatt as Germany’s most-used genealogy software.
