## Description

Geoffrey Litt is an independent software designer and researcher focused on making computing environments more adaptable. His work explores “malleable software”: tools that people can reshape to suit their needs, rather than being limited by fixed app designs. He currently works at Notion, previously served as a senior researcher at Ink & Switch, and earned a PhD in human-computer interaction at MIT. His core practice is designing and prototyping environments for thinking, with interests spanning end-user programming, dynamic documents, AI-assisted programming, and software design.

Litt’s projects include Embark, a dynamic document for travel planning; Potluck, which explores personal software through adaptable documents; and Wildcard, a tool for customizing web apps with a spreadsheet. Other work includes programming environments, browser extensions, developer tools, data visualization, and local-first software experiments. He also writes essays and gives talks on topics such as user agency, AI interfaces, and tools that people can shape. Through his newsletter, RSS feed, and social channels, he shares occasional updates and writing.
