## Description

The Geo-Institute (G-I) is a dynamic membership organization dedicated to geoprofessionals and the geo-industry, founded by the American Society of Civil Engineers in October 1996. With over 11,000 individual members and 65 organizational members, G-I fosters a community of engineers, scientists, technologists, and students committed to enhancing public safety and understanding the behavior of earth materials. 

The organization provides a plethora of resources aimed at career development, including conferences, scientific journals, and publications such as GEOSTRATA, its official bi-monthly magazine. Members can engage in various committees and task forces, as well as network and collaborate on emerging issues within civil engineering. 

Through its initiatives, G-I not only addresses crucial challenges associated with natural and man-made hazards but also works towards constructing reliable infrastructure. With a strong focus on professional growth and knowledge sharing, the Geo-Institute is an essential hub for anyone involved in geotechnical engineering globally.
