## Description

The Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) is a professional society founded in 1970 to advance the application of engineering and geological principles to ground and groundwater behaviour. Its work spans geomechanics in civil, mining, offshore and environmental engineering. The AGS brings together geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists and others interested in these fields through national and regional chapters across Australia.

The Society shares technical knowledge and supports professional learning through its publications, events and educational resources. It produces Australian Geomechanics, its journal and newsletter, and welcomes contributions including research papers, case studies, reviews and technical articles.
